My Signature Symbol

I made this up a few years ago. At first glance, it looks like a Chinese ideogram (Pin Yin) character. It is not: it's a T and an A, as well as a lewd little figure of a priapic man. I've had some well-meaning(?) pedants launch into tedious lectures to me about Chinese charact- just STFU.

Well, back to this image, the one I started this blog with. I've learned a lot since starting this illustration technique, and finding the right level of detail has been a challenge. Observing and gleaning information from a crummy digital photo is difficult, but there's an amazing amount to observe and deduce.

Oops...

I was saving jpegs for the blog using no embedded ICC color profile, and naively using screen captures for details. All images are much more richly colored now... I went back and resaved them all.

At some point you have to say you've done all you can. But since I'm learning this technique as I go, I feel free to tweak where I see improvements are needed. I'll leave the original up when I do make a change.
